Nano Bioprotect is composed of essential oils of Lavender, Melaleuca, Clove, Lemongrass, Cedar and Thyme. In addition to increased stability, its nanoparticles are formed by strategic materials as nutrient sources for microorganisms, resulting in a "trap" system. Thus, the microorganism, when degrading the capsule, comes into contact with the antimicrobial blend, which causes damage to bacterial membranes and cell walls, compromising the cellular integrity of these organisms and acting as a natural preservative with antiseptic and sanitizing properties.

Melaleuca essential oil is a potent antifungal and its main compounds are cineole and terpinen-4-ol. Cineole acts as an antimicrobial with marginal effects, i.e., it is irritant to the skin, which increases the permeability of the membrane to facilitate the entry of other antimicrobial agents. Terpinen-4-ol holds the main antimicrobial activity as it alters the membrane fluidity and permeability, causing structural damage to the cell walls and fungal membranes, compromising the cellular integrity of these microorganisms (CAVALCANTI; ALMEIDA; PADILHA, 2011).

The lavender essential oil balances oiliness and has tonic action on the hair, in addition to being useful in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff. It presents fungistatic, fungicidal and regenerative action of the epithelial system. The main lavender oil components are linalool and linalyl acetate, which inhibit the formation of germ tubes and elongation of hyphae in Candida albicans, reducing the progression and spread of infection (WICHROWSKI, 2007), (SILVEIRA et al, 2012), (D'AURIA et al, 2005).

Clove is a dried flower bud from a tree native to Moluccas, Indonesia. The properties of its essential oil are attributed to its main constituent, eugenol, which has an important antibacterial and antifungal effect. Clove oil acts against isolated onychomycosis fungi such as Candida albicans, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Aspergillus niger (AFFONSO et al, 2012), among other fungi such as Fusarium oxysporum, Penicillium sp. and Trichoderma sp. (EL-MESALLAMY et al, 2012).

Cedar essential oil has lipolytic and lymphotonic, as well as arterial regenerating and toning properties. This oil provides a combination of properties that stimulate circulation and detoxify the lymphatic system (FAUCON, 2012).

Lemongrass is a plant originally from Asia, mainly from India. From its leafs, it is extracted extracted an essential oil whose main component is Citral (Geraniol), largest responsible for the anti-fungal, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of this oil (TASKINEN et al, 1983), (CHANDRASHEKAR; PRASANNA, 2010).

Native of the Western Mediterranean, thyme is abundantly found throughout southern France, Portugal, Spain and Italy, and its leaves exude strong aroma (DIGEST, 1999). Thymus vulgaris, popularly known as thyme, belongs to the botanical family Lamiaceae, an interesting herbal agent from the cosmetic point of view because of its composition and several actions, such as astringent, antiseptic, circulation stimulant, antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-fungal (MCINTYRE, 2011 ). The main constituents

of Thymus vulgaris essential oil, called carvacrol and thymol, are related to its biological activity. Carvacrol has been investigated for its bactericidal effect, while thymol is notable for its anti-fungal and antibacterial effects (VIEIRA DE MELO et al., 2000).

Nano Bioprotect is a blend of essential oils encapsulated in biopolymer nanoparticles, with an average diameter of 500-600 nm and an enzymatic release trigger. The blend encapsulation through the Nanovetores technology allows the stabilization of the essential oils, which are sensitive components, therefore, complex of being formulated in their free form due to high reactivity with chemical and physical factors. The blend has proven antibacterial action, in the Challenge test against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli.
