SURFADONE LP-300 (LAURYL PYRROLIDONE)

Surfadone LP-300 wetting agent is sparingly soluble in water and soluble in most organic solvents. It is a low forming, nonionic surfactant and has no critical micelle concentration (CMC). As with its lower homolog, Surfadone LP-300 wetting agent interacts with anionic surfactants forming mixed micelles which greatly enhance its solubility resulting in a synergistic surface tension reduction and wetting engancement. Appropriate combinations of Surfadone LP-300 wetting agent and anionic surfactants produce viscous solutions and gels. Used in shampoos. Acts as a thickeners and foam stabilizers, nonionic surfactant and a conditioning agent.
